Hi, my name is Celina, but you can call me Cece — whichever one is fine. I’m a 20-year-old born and raised on Aruba, living in the Netherlands.
I started blogging back in 2014, at the age of 17. My first ever blog was called The Rustic Bookshelf, and as you can tell from the title, it was purely centered around books.
I started blogging primarily as an outlet for my writing — something I’ve been doing since the age of 12 — however I always struggled to finish my stories due to writer’s block. Obviously, this frustrated the living hell out of me. So in order to continue writing, I decided to try my hand at blogging.
At the time, due to ridiculous insecurity regarding practically everything about myself (I was hands down one of those kids who went through the ‘awkward phase’), I decided to blog about something rather than about myself. I wanted to distance myself from the content of the blog as much as possible. So I focused it on something I love instead: Books.
I realized that I really like blogging. I also realized that I wanted to blog about more than just books. Between The Rustic Bookshelf and Take Me to the Bay, I started and deleted several different blogs (at least seven), never really being satisfied.
On August 30th, 2016, I arrived in the Netherlands, and after a solid 7 years of watching beauty and fashion YouTube videos, following fashion influencers on Instagram and reading different blogs, I finally decided to take the leap and truly start producing my own content.
Take Me to the Bay is a blog focused primarily on fashion, beauty, and traveling, but it also extends into other topics, such as my beloved books.
I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy creating them ❤️
